WebFTP is a file manager that runs right in your browser — you don't install any software, and you get access to your site's files as soon as you log into Plesk.
How do you open WebFTP?
- Log into the Plesk panel for your service.
- Go to the Strony WWW i domeny section (Websites & Domains).
- Next to your domain, click Menedżer plików (File Manager).
- Plesk will open that domain's
httpdocsdirectory — that's where the site's files live.
On the left, you'll see the directory structure; on the right, the contents of the current folder. Select a file to see additional options: editing, downloading, changing permissions, or compressing it to ZIP. The available actions depend on the file type.
WebFTP in Plesk, no extra software needed
WebFTP comes in handy when you need to quickly check your site's files, upload a single file, or delete an unnecessary directory without setting up an external FTP client. For bigger jobs, classic FTP or SSH may still be more convenient, if it's available in your package.
In Plesk hosting, a site's files are tied to a specific domain and subscription. That makes it easier to keep different projects separate and reduces the risk of accidental changes in the wrong directory.
