PrestaShop loads a server differently than a typical business website — a large product catalog, photos, filters, and the checkout process all mean far more database queries. Hosting properly tuned for PrestaShop isn't just a different name for the same plan — it means genuinely different parameters.
What exactly is “tuned” for PrestaShop?
- PHP 8.1–8.5 — you set the version yourself in Plesk, to match the requirements of the PrestaShop version you're running.
- PHP limits for heavy operations — importing a catalog, generating photo thumbnails, and exporting orders need higher memory and execution-time limits than the defaults for a simple website.
- MySQL with headroom — a catalog of several thousand products means more queries per second under traffic; that's why for larger stores we recommend the Business, Performance or Pro plan, not Eco.
- NVMe instead of SSD — a faster drive genuinely cuts the load time for product listings and the admin panel.
Which plan for which store?
Dozens to a few hundred products, moderate traffic: Personal is usually enough. A few thousand products, steady traffic from ads or price-comparison sites: Business (more CPU/RAM, SSH access for diagnostics).
