Migrating a PrestaShop store takes more care than moving a simple website — besides the files and database, you need to preserve the payment, shipping, and integration configuration. DoSieci.pl migrates your store for free as part of a hosting order; below we also show how to do it yourself.
Step by step
- Make a full backup of the store directory and export the database on the old hosting.
- On the new Plesk account, create a database and upload the files via WebFTP or SSH.
- Import the database via phpMyAdmin and update the connection details in
config/settings.inc.php. - Test the store on a temporary address (or via the
hostsfile) — the admin panel, product catalog, cart, payments, and transactional emails. - Only switch the domain's DNS and activate the SSL certificate on the new account once testing checks out.
After switching DNS, keep an eye out for a few days to make sure orders aren't still landing on the old version of the store — an internet provider's DNS cache can sometimes linger longer than expected.
